This site is set up to provide a centralized list of Pomeranian pets who were separated from their owners during the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Pictures of rescued Katrina Poms will be posted with available information about the dog including the current shelter location and contact information to help owners reunite with their precious Pommie pals.
I dedicate this site to my Pom Murphy, a loving and loyal friend.
NOTE TO POM OWNERS!: Please be sure to check the regular Petfinder website to see if your pet may be listed for adoption. Some shelters have adopted out Katrina pets. To access the website, go to www.Petfinder.com and enter information on the left-hand side of the page where it says "Quick Pet Search". Enter "Dog" in the box for Animal, enter "Pom" in the box for Breed, enter "All" in the boxes for Age, Size and Gender, enter your home Zip Code, put a check mark in the box that says "Pic Preview" and select "National" in the box for Search Range. This should pull up all Poms listed for adoption nationwide. Keep checking because new Poms are added all of the time.

Have you seen this dog on the right? This is Lil' Bit. No, he is not a Pomeranian, but I have been searching for him for months for a friend of mine. Lil' Bit is a male, Shih Tzu mix, 3 years old, black/white with some tan. His owner was forced to leave him on the Causeway under the I10 overpass in New Orleans, because the bus driver would not let her take him on the bus when they evacuated. This dog belongs to a little boy who misses his Lil' Bit very much. If you have seen this dog, PLEASE contact me at katrinapoms@yahoo.com.

1. If you find a Katrina Pom that is not listed on this website, please email me and let me know. Please provide any information you have on the dog, including where it is located and a photo, if possible. I will add it to the website.
2. If you see a Pomeranian on the website that you know has been reunited with its' owner, please email me and let me know. I will add the dog to the "Reunited Poms" page.
3. If you have a Pomeranian that you lost during Katrina and have been unable to locate it, please email me information about your dog, a photo (if possible) and your contact information. I will post the dog on the website as a "Lost Pom".
